Made my Mini Goal!!!

I feel so good, to make it this far.  I know this is still a small start, I only have 5 more lbs to go, and then the real work begins, keeping it off and getting more fit.  I’m still striving for those 6 pack abs, but I can see now that that is much farther off than just losing weight, I have moved that goal to a more reasonable time frame…6 months.  I will then reevaluate and either move my goal back or hopefully meet it!  I have not worked out he last 3 days, but I have still mananged to keep my calories in touch and always have a deficit of at least -250.  I am gonna get back into my workout routine this week, with a combination of yard work, tread mill, and weightlifting.  Thanks to everyone for keeping me on track, and helping when I need it.  I feel so good and I owe a lot of it to you and this awesome site, it is a great motivator for me.  knowing if I “fail” its not just me and my family who will know, but all of you too.  I’m not good at public failure, and so for me, that is my motivation!

Recap….Thank You Buddies!

It’s been a couple weeks since I posted, thought I was over due.  No fancy words, just a recap of what’s been going on.  Got that Harley and the weather has finally warmed up enough to take a few daily road trips to the beach, and to Portland. It is a bug that my hubby and I have been bitten by just in the past month, and HARD!  We also bought a home gym about a month ago.  I have been working out with it faithfully at least 5 days a week.  And now Hubby (who was snickering, and “poking” fun at me for all my dieting efforts…) has joined me in my evening workouts, on the treadmill and with the weights.  He has even started to make “healthier” decisions in his eating.  Now keep in mind we use to eat out 6 days a week and scrounging for dinner on the 7th day.  I HATED to cook, and if I did it was out of a box!  Now I cook 6 days a week, a lot of chicken and fish, with red meat one to two nights a week (Buffalo tonight…YUM!)  And if we do go out to eat…Grilled Chicken sandwich or salad (no mayo or fat free/light dressing).  I don’t buy M&M’s by the 7 lb bag anymore, but rather celery and triscuits.  I find in the evening when I do have cravings I can give in to them with a carrot.  in a month and a half I am down 11 lbs, 1 lb away from my mini goal of 115, I have lost 2 inches off each thigh, and 3 inches off of my belly, and 1 inch off of my butt/hips.  I have dropped two sizes in my jeans, and one size in my shirts.  I feel like I can do anything and I owe it all to BuddySlim and all your support!  All my Buddies and their helpfull advise to keep me heathly and on track.  THANK YOU!!

Plateau! Is this it for me???

Ok, I’m trying to stay positive!  But I have not seen a weight change in two weeks!  Now that has its positives and negatives.  At least I’m not gaining!  But at the same time I’m not losing.  I have not strayed from my diet, but ever so slightly.  I am still maintaining 1200 calories a day, keeping my deficit within the 250-750 range.  I work out everyday 30 minutes on the treadmill, and 30 minutes with the home gym.  I am small boned, petite.  When I got married  22 years ago, I only weighed 95 lbs, I was training for body building (only 5% body fat).  Over the years, with marriage, life and kids I have ballooned up to 130.  I’m only trying to reach 110- 115 now, but I seem to have stopped  at 118, just three pounds short of my mini goal.  Could this sudden ERCHHHH in my weightloss, be because of muscle gain, if so Im OK with that, or am I trying too hard, and my body is telling me to SLOW DOWN!  Any suggestions?  I’m all ears!

Keeping my calories in check, what to eat to bring up my calorie deficit??

I’m finding it really hard this weekend to keep my calories in check.  Not only did I not eat enough each day but yesterday I had a deficit of -1800 calories.  I got so busy outside, mowing grass for 6 hours, that I hardly ate anyting, and when I did it was like pizza, just one slice, and a salad, so I stayed within my normal range, of portions, but I burned so many more calories, that I’m really afraid I have messed up my bodies routine.  Today I did not exercise, instead we took a 125 mile motorcycle trip across two counties!  It was fabulous day for such a ride too.  Our first chance to get out on the new cycle and feel the wind.  We are so hooked!  Again, because we were on the road so much I missed my routine snacks, that I normally take every two hours throughout the day, so my calories where low.  Question???  When I burn as many calories as I did yesterday, what is a good food to eat to help bring them up faster, and still be good for me?  I can only eat so many vegetables, before I burst.  Maybe something less filling, but just as good… any suggestions?

I got a chance this evening to “play” around with the new home gym, figure out my max’s and what settings and all to put things on.  I set up a chart on the computer to document mine (and hubby’s) progress, hopefully I will get time to start tomorrow evening.  We have one more nice day tomorrow before the cooler weather and rain return.  It’s so much easier to stick with a set schedule when it’s gloomy outside, but I sure LOVE the sunshine, and I can’t wait for it to come and stay.  So many more acivities to fill my days, when I can get outside.

It’s late and I need to get to bed, gotta get up at 6 and start all over again tomorrow.  Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!  Have a FANTABULOUS Monday!   And give me some high energy, low fat food ideas, please!  :D

What a busy day!

Went to work today. Some days are slow and I have lots of time to “play” on buddyslim, or update myspace.  Not today!  But I love my job so it is a good day when we are busy in the office.  Got home from work, then out the door I run again, Hubby and I went and looked at Home Gyms and bought one.  I’m so excited!  Didn’t get home till 10PM, so it still sits in the back of the truck, till morning.  Now I can add an extra 30-60 minutes to my daily workouts.  I confess didn’t get to workout today though, but that’s Ok.  I “allow” myself one day a week to slack, or take a break, however you want to look at it.  Tomorrow and the rest of the weekend, look to be busy as well.  With nice weather coming for a chnage, I get to mow my grass finally. It make s a great workout for me since it takes a minimum of 4 hours (with a push mower).  I think I will make up for not getting a workout in today!  Then on Sunday we are planning our first motorcycle ride, on our new (used) cycle.  Finally a day nice enough and we both arent working, to take a trip!  I plan to post pictures next week. I’m so tired, before I fall asleep on my keyboard I had better head to bed, I was just so excited that I had to share my day!  Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Oh FYI, I returned those chips I had bought with the Olestra in them, decided I can do without chips, they just didn’t sound “healthy” to me!

So far so good!

Now that the bloating has gone down, I can see my true results for the last couple weeks.  Down another pound!  Im getting excited to see it actully disappearing.  Going to measure today and see how many inches are actually lost.  I know my belt is one notch smaller now, and my jeans are getting baggy.  Getting anxious to go buy a few new pairs of jeans in about a month or so.  I been eating right, staying within my calories and working out 6 days a week.  I haven’t felt this good in a long time!
